Medical Clinic
2018 saw the start of dream we have had for several years now ...... a medical clinic to help alleviate the dire need for medical care in Klipheuwel.
Residents of Klipheuwel have to travel into Durbanville (40km roundtrip) at a cost of R44 per person. They often arrive at the clinic after the quota of patients that can be seen is full and return home without being helped.
There is a mobile clinic, a Kombi (large car), that visits the informal township once a month largely for immunizations and family planning.

Many single Mother households survive on a social grant of around R750 -R1500 a month! So medical care is not affordable for them.
The clinic ran 4 days a week but when Covid 19 struck, we lost our sister. Since then the clinic operates only Thursdays. A General Practitioner is there to see those who need assistance.
Recently, an optometrist has joined on Thursdays to test eyesight and to provide free glasses.
